Vintage car tours in the Salzkammergut

Through one of Austria's most beautiful regions by vintage car

Love for chic vintage cars is especially at home here, where fascinating landscapes attract visitors for tours. The Salzkammergut too is a popular destination for vintage car owners. Drive amongst other participants in the rally or enjoy a scenic tour yourself in the sunny weather!

Salzkammergut Classicar: the vintage car rally in the Salzkammergut

Every year in June, the Rotary Club of the Mondseeland region organises its legendary rally. The route follows large sections of the Salzkammergut until crossing the border into the Salzburg region. Here, the Attersee, the largest inland lake in Austria, is circled, while the Irrsee, Mondsee, Lake Wolfgang and even the Mattsee are paid a visit. So as not to neglect the physical nourishment, the rally stops in the loveliest inns in the region.

To ensure things aren't too monotonous, there are also mountain stages to challenge you.

Wonderful scenic routes in the alpine upland, views of the blue water, treats from the Salzkammergut and all that in company with like-minded individuals: the Salzkammergut Classicar Rally is not to be missed for vintage car drivers.

Lake Wolfgang Classic on the Postalm

This journey is not half bad for vintage cars: the Postalm lies at around 1,300 metres above sea level. The route takes the rally drivers from Strobl at Lake Wolfgang and up to the mountain area and back down to Strobl. What's more, there is a Corso in the town centre of Strobl, which attracts many curious gazes.

The vintage car mountain race at Lake Wolfgang takes place every year in May and is organised by the Motor Veterans' Club Salzburg. You can find all further information at mvcs.at.
