Step on the pedals for a few metres and the Almhütte will appear before you. In the Salzkammergut, you can scale one mountain after the next with your mountain bike. For pleasure cyclists and families, there are also comfortable routes that are level or circle the deep blue Salzkammergut lakes.

Explore the mountain landscape of the Salzkammergut by mountain bike. Set your wheels on the Mondseeberg or the Eisenaueralm and stop for a rest in the peaceful countryside on the mountain. The managed mountain lodges will provide delicious reinforcement and a cold drink before you set off into the valley again.

One popular destination is the Eisenaueralm. From Mondsee, you travel along the western side of the lake, along the Salzkammergut Cycle Path and leave Schwarzindien with its villas and the Drachenwand behind you. Before the Scharfligerpass to St. Gilgen, a forest road branches to the left. This runs steadily upwards to the Buchberghütte on the Eisenaueralm.

On the Mondseeberg you will mostly be travelling in shaded woods, making the tour ideal for hot summer days.
