The hearts of hikers will be delighted around the Mondsee: the hiking possibilities here in one of the most beautiful holiday regions in Austria are sheer endless. There are both hikes alongside the water surface as well as mountain hikes to choose from.

Tips & information

Choose a hike that is not too long for the first day of your hiking holiday to get used to the effort. The right equipment should always be with you: a well-fitting rucksack, hiking shoes with tread, rain protection and provisions are the most necessary basic equipment for every hike. Hiking poles can be rented from the tourist association.

Enjoy and watch out for nature

The Mondseeland is extensively covered by an untouched natural landscape. Contribute to preserving this wonderful environment by acting respectfully towards nature. Carry your rubbish with you, stay on the marked paths and don't pick any plants. Keep dogs on their lead and pay special attention to springs and natural conservation areas as well as protected parts of the landscape.
