Sledding in the Salzkammergut and the Salzburg region
Sled runs around Mondsee
A sled, a slope, fresh snow and good vibes: you don't need anything more for the winter fun that everyone knows from childhood: sledding. Naturally, in the Salzkammergut, not just slopes await you, but also specially prepared sled runs, where you can wonderfully speed down. You don't have to have to children to have the most fun while sledding.

Hochserner-Hof sled run in Tiefgraben
In Tiefgraben between Mondsee and Irrsee, you will already find the first natural sled run. This begins with the Hochserner Jausenstation above the Mondsee. You can complete the climb on foot via the approx. 4 kilometre long road. If you don't have a sled with you, you can rent one from the Jausenstation. There you can warm and reinforce yourself with a drink after the winter hike before getting down to sledding.
From Mondsee, the mountains are on the hotel's doorstep and therefore also more great sledding routes.
Natural sled run Fuschl am See
In Fuschl am See, there is a small natural sledding meadow. This is just 300 metres long and is therefore mainly ideal for families with small children for a sledding trip. You can find the sledding meadow beneath Haus Meißnitzer-Ellmaustraße.
Sledding in Faistenau
Several kilometres further into the Salzburg region, you will find great conditions for sleding in Faistenau. The Grögernalm offers the longest sled run. From the Almhütte to the valley, it is 3 kilometres. The hiking trail to the Sausteigalm is also prepared as a wonderful natural sled run in the winter (approx. 2.5km long). As a 3rd option, you can also sled down a 1.5 kilometre long forest trail into the valley on the natural sled run in Lidaun in Faistenau. Sleds can be rented from the sports rental in the town for a fee (half day or full day).

Sledding in Strobl and on the Postalm
At Gasthof Kleefeld in Weißenbach, you will find a 1.6km long natural sled run including sled rental. With this, we recommend stopping for a cosy bite to eat in the tavern, whose menu also features game specialities.
One person wants to go skiing, the other sledding – at the Postalm Ski Resort, you can do both. An approx. 1km long sled run leads from the upper car park past the Stroblerhütte to the guesthouse.
Enjoy the winter landscape between lake idylls, flat valley and high mountains – as diverse as the Salzkammergut is, its options in winter are just as varied. At the Hotel Krone in Mondsee, the mountains are very close to you and you can enjoy the informal atmosphere, the good food and the sauna area after your winter excursions.
